MTC Progress Tracker

I have a Portrait of a Graduate. Now what?

Once you know which competencies matter to your school community, the next step is to track your learners’ growth. The MTC Progress Tracker empowers learners to lead this tracking process. You upload your school’s learning scale (e.g., progression, verification guide), and your learners interact with the tool by uploading evidence of growth. With educator approval, learners advance along the scale and share snapshots with parents and caregivers.

Design Elements

Authentic Feedback

Learners drive the process by uploading evidence and reflections of progress, requesting to advance along a learning scale, and using suggestions/feedback to progress.

Portfolio of Evidence

Learners upload as much evidence as needed to demonstrate progress. Evidence can take various forms—documents, videos, website links, etc.—and can be tagged to more than one competency.

Collaborative Design

Learner data is viewable by all educators assigned to that learner. Evidence and comments from multiple learning experiences/courses are shown, providing a comprehensive view of progress across transdisciplinary skills.

Flexible Snapshots

Snapshots communicate evidence of growth to learners, educators, and parents/caregivers. Members determine how frequently Progress Snapshots are shared.

A Continuum of Competency-Based Tools

As a formative tracking and reporting system, the MTC Progress Tracker supports competency-based learning across a learner’s K-12 experience. Information will feed into the MTC Learning Record and Mastery Transcript, enabling members using these summative records to seamlessly integrate evidence of learner progress across MTC tools.
